In September of 1850 William Sneed plantation was located in Washington County Georgia
By December of 1850 William Sneed plantation was located in Jefferson County Florida
The map above, shows the location of Taylor County, to Jefferson County, It also shows the location of Madison County, to Jefferson County, which you cannot see on this map
This documentation gives me reason to be more that 50% sure that the Sneed name originated from William Sneed plantation.
William Sneed was a very wealthy plantation owner. According to the1850 census his land was value at $ 2000.00
In 1850 a $1.00 was worth $27.58 times $2,000 equal around $55,000
